What to think about before contacting an agency

Customers often start with the phrase «we just need a website.» But there’s much more to it than that. A website is not just pages of text. It’s a tool that should work for results. And this requires a clear approach.
The site should be fast. The user will not wait more than a few seconds. If the site is slow, it affects conversion, behavior and search rankings.
The site should be user-friendly. Structure, logic, navigation, adaptability. Everything should be clear at first glance. Otherwise, the person will leave.
Content matters. The developer doesn't create the texts, but they should be. And it's good when the team immediately takes into account how the content affects the structure and functionality. Without it, it won't be clear what exactly to implement.
There has to be a goal. Whether it's a sale, a lead generation, a demo request, a newsletter subscription. All of this affects the layout, integrations, and analytics.
Integrations are needed. The website does not exist separately. CRM, email, chat, payment, analytics — all of them are part of a complete product.
Support is important. The site is not finished at the moment of launch. Often something needs to be corrected, updated, and improved. And it's good when this is included in the process right away.
From a developer's perspective, a website is not just about design or CMS. It's about logic, structure, data, and purpose. If you take these into account, your website will not just exist, but work for you.
